Mark Golden on Paint

We are excited about the opening of our first Gallery show of the Artist Residents from 2012… And absolutely delighted that so many of the artists have traveled here for the opening. The show looks beautiful and so brilliantly shares the diversity of talent that joined the Golden Foundation for its inaugural year of the Golden Residency. The show will be up through August and we look forward to all our visitors this spring and summer celebrating our first year’s success with us.

The title of the show “Made in Paint”, references the mission of the Foundation to celebrate the artists working in paint; who continually excite us all with reinventing the medium. The reference also remains for us a symbol of the joy of making things, up here in Upstate, NY. As a paint-maker I love producing a product that that all of us can be proud of, both the employee owners here at Golden’s, the family members of our Foundation and all of the artists that have collaborated with us all these years as we continue to invent, refine and contribute to the vitality of our arts community.
