Golden Foundation Residency Reaching Starting Line
Barbara and I are busy each evening working on the final touches for the Foundation Residency Building and Project. The applications are now coming in and we’re thrilled to finally have the official program launching with the first Residency this July. We are also delighted to have a good friend open our Workshop Program at the Residency Building, Mary Alice Braukman. Known around the country as a leading educator and one of the brave few artists, who many years ago began to break down what appeared to be a very formal barrier between Watercolors and Acrylics, thereby allowing artists to easily move from one media to the other. (As if they needed permission… but they did!).
So over the next few months, we’ll be polishing up the place and we couldn’t be more pleased with how it has turned out.
We’ve had a few artists working in the space to help us iron out the bugs in this new building. Lori Wilson, from the Golden Artist Colors staff has been covering every floor with experiments and new works has been a great help in understanding the workings of the space. So we’re still fixing the lighting, the plumbing, and making sure the apartments are all functioning as expected.
Truly a dream of many years finally coming to fruition. We’ll also be listing in May other workshop programs coming this fall for the Residency . Can’t wait for you folks to visit! Check out the site, the Residency Applications (closing May 6th) and the Workshop listing for Mary Alice Braukman at www.goldenfoundation.org
