Golden 30 years old today
I think back to the day my folks, my wife and I sat at the attorney’s office in Norwich, NY to sign the incorporation papers to begin Golden Artist Colors. My folks put in $2,500 and I had to borrow from them my $2,500 for my part of the investment.
But that was just the beginning.  I then spent the next 5 years running through all their personal savings. With the energy of newlyweds, they gave us the encouragement to continue on.  I am so grateful that both of my folks got to see the Company succeed. So much of that success had come from the artists that supported my weekly deliveries into NYC. I came back from each visit to the City excited about the art I had a chance to see. Filled with requests from artists to develop custom materials.
I’m heading down to Manhattan today to visit with some artists with my partner for over 35 years, my wife Barbara. For 10 years, in the beginning, I had made this trip every week.  It was some of the most exciting times of my life. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our 30th anniversary. My life’s work has been about seeing and responding to the work completed with our materials and it continues to be a thrill each time. For thirty years, no one could have had a better job. I just can’t remember if I ever paid my folks back………

That is a marvelous story. I am sure your parents were very proud of both you. I believe you did pay back your parents with every ounce of joy they had watching you be excited about their vision. From their Golden Years to yours, Happy Anniversary! This year we will have our 30th Wedding Anniversary, thank you for adding color and texture to our lives.

Your service impeccable and your product is superb. Everyone I have spoken with at Golden over all these thirty long years has been personable, helpful ,generous and patient.

I attended your first July 4th party and wonderful fireworks display about 30 years ago. It was one of the nicest evenings- the fire works were wonderful as was the Golden generosity. I also loved the hand made acrilyic swatch samples you made at that time. I am happy for all of you.
