Mark Golden on Paint

Many of the issues we confront here at Golden Artist Colors relate to the permanency of the materials we produce. Continually trying to push the boundaries for how long and how well these materials will last.

We have had several requests during the years for materials that would not be permanent. Paints that would degrade within a short period of time after the intended show or exhibit. I think this might be helpful, especially to artists who request that their installation be thrown out after the exhibit only to find out that it has been stored in some basement with the thought that it be pulled out again at some point or conserved for educational and exhibition purposes.

Is this truly a need for artists, to have materials that will self-destruct? When would you use them if at all? Is their value to impermanent materials?
