Richard Frumess – R&F Paints Celebrated

24 September, 2014 (16:36) | Community

Every fall Women’s Studio Workshop holds a Gala event celebrating a distinguished woman artist and an arts patron or supporter. This past weekend the artist recognized was the very well known and talented print maker, Zarina, and the arts patron, the equally well known and talented paint maker, and friend, Richard Frumess. What a wonderful event at the Mohonk Resort celebrating both these individuals who have had a long connection to the great work of WSW.

Richard shared a wonderful anecdote of the making of a fresco. I’m sorry for having to relay this imperfectly, but it will have to do. He shared “Truly their is no fresco paint. It is a collaboration of the plaster, the pigment and water. What I do as a paint maker is much the same. It is in the delight of working with artists and sharing our love for materials that our real work happens”.

Again, congratulations to a dear friend. Best, Mark

I tried Golden heavy when I took a workshop with Don Sawyer, artist, and have been hooked ever since. I bought a plein aire paint box and in it was a complimentary three tube golden, and i love those colors. It caught my eye that you are employee owned, because i think thats what all companies should be, but then when I read your statement above, I’m now a believer of not only the product, but the company as well.
