Friday, August 23, 2024 11:00 AM 1:00 PM Join me live from my studio where we’ll be using our collage scraps to create paint and paper assemblages. These look fabulous framed and make great prints This is just a fun, relaxed summer workshop that was inspired by pieces I made for my solo exhibit. The event will be recorded and available to watch for 30 days after the event. Materials list Collage paper scraps, washi tape, any collage elements you already have. Be on the lookout for interesting food wrappers or any papers that can be repurposed Small square substrates- I’m using Ampersand Claybord and Gessobord 6x6”, 8x8” (approximately 15x15cm or 20x20cm squares) GOLDEN SoFlat colors, Soft Gel Gloss Your brush set- I’m using Silver Brush Ultra Mini’s and Bristlon brushes Water container, rags, palette knife, dotting tool or tiny brush, kabob stick etc.

All materials are provided We’ll be working with GOLDEN OPEN Acrylic colors because they stay wet longer- similar to printmaking inks making them a wonderful alternative. The Ampersand Claybord Panel is a fabulous surface that takes paint and inks exceptionally well AND you can carve it to create a plate for printmaking.

The items you can collage with are infinite as are the substrates. The mini wood panels have been prepped with Pastes and Gels and are ready to be painted. You’ll see how paint looks over texture and take home a lovely mini landscape ready for framing. I’ll be demonstrating some fun approaches to collage assemblage using handmade papers and Gel Mediums Building collage elements Gathering, making and buying collage papers Dry brushing your papers and other painting techniques Tone on tone effects Glazing with transparent colors Working with a limited palette When, how, and why to use the various Gels and Medium Workshop will be recorded, unedited and available to watch for about 30 days after the event at your convenience.
