Sandra was born in the Niagara Peninsula, Canada, and has lived and trained in Canada, USA and Australia. She studied writing and journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and City University London, England, and over the past 20 years has developed her creative work to include visual arts. Sandra initially learning classical drawing and oil painting with renowned artists including the late Kevin Taylor at Brighton Arts Society in Melbourne, and Juan Martinez at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto. Most recently she has explored the realm of possibilities after being trained as a GOLDEN Artist Educator and has added so much more to her teaching. Her favorite part of being an artist is volunteering in the arts; she has developed a hands-on, studio-based high school arts curriculum, was co-founder of North Toronto Group of Artists, and has launching many community and school-based arts projects. She teaches drawing, painting and mixed-media workshops and offers an annual workshop in Europe for one week each summer. Sandra currently divides her time between living in the picturesque historical town of Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada and in beautiful Loudoun County, Virginia USA. Sandra's original and published works are exhibited and sold internationally.

• Painting in Puglia, Italy

  Immerse yourself in a transformative 7-day painting workshop in Puglia, Italy, designed to inspire artistic growth in one of the country’s most picturesque regions. Daily lessons explore a variety of techniques, including representational and abstract contemporary painting, mixed media methods, brushwork, color theory, composition, and fundamental principles of perspective. With professional-grade GOLDEN Artist Colors acrylic paints and mediums provided, participants will also have access to extra brushes, archival paper, and drawing materials. Optional one-on-one sessions ensure personalized guidance to help you refine your skills and expand your creative horizons.   Mixed Media Workshop with Sandra Iafrate June 14 Join mixed media artist Sandra Iafrate for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own unique 10 x 10” mixed media piece on a canvas. • Mixed Media Workshop

  In this exciting workshop, you will explore the world of collage mixed-media painting and create a contemporary 10"x 10" artwork on canvas using top-quality materials such as GOLDEN Artist Colours paints and mediums. With guidance, you'll develop unique brush techniques and learn various methods of applying paint and collage pieces to the canvas. This workshop includes everything you need, including all paints and mediums, a 10"x10" canvas, brushes and palette knives, and other application materials. We'll also provide some textiles, objects, water containers, table easels, coffee and tea. Aprons will be available, and participants are welcome to bring their own printed images, prints, or papers for collage if desired. Space is limited to 12 participants.
