Nautilus SeaShell in a Mosaic Style
This unique way to portray a seashell is also a wonderful way to practice wet-into-wet watercolor techniques and blending. First, we’ll lightly draw our shell image, then we begin to design the shells and their backgrounds with light applications of masking fluid using a unique process with a fine-line applicator. This is a technique that ca be applied to many other subjects too. Sketches will be provided, so no drawing skills are required.

A Pair of Love Birds in Watercolors
These precious symbols of love and romance are beautiful and peaceful as they sit together on their favorite branch. You will have a choice of creating them in vibrant colors or soft pastels as you use a variety of watercolor techniques including wet-on-wet, dry brush, and glazing. No drawing skills are required, reference photos & sketches will be provided.

White Flowers Using A Calligraphy Pen and Watercolors
You will first draw the floral picture of your choice from the numerous reference sketches available using the calligraphy pen provided in class for all students. Then you will learn how to gently bleed out the colors from the pen to create beautiful pastel tints and shadows. Lastly, we will use watercolors to create dynamic accents. This is a fun and unique way to paint that we know you will enjoy.

Summer Seashells & Sea Glass on the Sand
Texturing, under-painting, and highlighting will be the focus as we explore the novelty uses of various supplies to create this seashell collection on the sand. You will learn to compose the shape and texture of the beautiful shells with the use of glazing, shadows & a variety of other techniques and add the realism of the sand with layers, masking, and spattering. Numerous sketches will be available, so no drawing skills are required.
