This workshop is 9am-4:30pm and 2 days Join artist Micah Goguen as we walk through design principles using collage, acrylic and texture pastes in a creative and innovative way. You will be able to create your own collage papers using GelPress gel plates that you get to keep. We will be using GOLDEN acrylics on Ampersand Art Panels to create simple abstract compositions. You will then be able to layer and arrange a cityscape or landscape following these methods. Finish it off by layering some texture with stencils and you will have your own unique pair of paintings. Each guest will leave with 2 completed paintings and keep their gel plate. Join artist Micah Goguen as we layer media using basic compositions and color theory followed by stencil application, texture paste and embellishments. The theme is on native plants and templates will be provided for you. Explore two different compositions allowing you to alternate back and forth. Each participant will leave with two completed 8 x 8 works. The image is transferable so no drawing skills are required. Add your own flare by selecting your favorite colors and stencil designs. This workshop is 9am--4:30pm No experience necessary and all materials provided. Join artist Micah Goguen as we design and embellish a wooden book box. All materials are included to help you get a personalized and creative design. We will be adding layers of antique collage papers, paper clay press mold embellishments, jewels adornments and more. You can email images or wording that you would like to use to personalize the project but it MUST be emailed at least 3 days before Art & Soul Event begins so that it can be printed in time. I will also have a selection of images for you to use and consider. Guests will learn how to design, layer and encapsulate materials in order to achieve a 3 dimensional authentic looking book that doubles as a secret box for you to store your treasures. This workshop is 9am--4:30pm This is an easy and fun workshop. Each guest will receive a pre-prepped crackle paste panel with a bird template to transfer. I will demonstrate how to prepare the GOLDEN crackle paste on an Ampersand panel even though you won't have to do that part. We will use GOLDEN High Flow acrylics to add layers of washes similar to watercolor and then saturate certain modules to create a mosaic stained glass effect. All materials will be provided. We will be using SilverBrush Silverwhite brushes. This is a very success oriented workshop that doesn't require a lot of effort or thinking. You must preregister at least 24 hours or more before the class or materials will not be ready for you. Everyone will leave with a completed 5 x 7 artwork. You can choose from several bird templates that will be provided. No previous experience or drawing experience required. You will trace the template on the pre-prepped panel.. Working on Ampersand Pastelbord, we will explore blending, mark mark making and layered application to create our own interpretations of a landscape. This workshop is 10am-1pm Join us as we learn about the properties of Ampersand Scratchbord in conjunction with staining techniques using GOLDEN High Flow Acrylics. Scratchbord, also known as black Claybord is a kaolin coated surface. In this workshop, we will have a floral template that you can trace with white transfer paper. Following the template, we scratch the surface to reveal the white and create values. We will then stain with your favorite color combinations of High Flow acrylics so your work is uniquely yours. No previous experience is necessary and all materials are included.
