Kathleen Broaderick has resided on the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida for the past 18 years. She began her artistic journey during her last semester at Florida State University as a Communications major. She decided to fill an extra elective slot in her schedule with a watercolor class and never looked back. After raising two children and teaching elementary school, she has turned her longtime passion into a career. Kathleen has been described as being able to perfectly seize the essence of the subjects in the painting. By boldly using color and light in her work, she brilliantly turns any subject into a personal, relatable piece to be appreciated by all. Instead of perfectly representing exact details and color of her subject, Kathleen paints to capture an impression and evoke deep and true emotions from within the viewer. In the summer of 2017, Kathleen opened CHROMA studio & gallery at 3925 W. County Hwy 30a, in Santa Rosa Beach. CHROMA allows Kathleen to combine her personal art studio and love of teaching in one place. In October 2017, Kathleen was named South Walton’s Artist of the Year, representing the beautiful 30A area and all the area artists.
